Did I Spend Too Much on My PC Upgrade?

I recently upgraded my PC by buying almost all new parts from my local store, but now I'm worried I might have overpaid. After reviewing the prices, especially compared to pre-built systems, I'm feeling pretty uneasy about my choices. Here's a breakdown of my old specs and new ones with their prices:

**Old PC Specs:**
- Ryzen 9 5900x
- Asus TUF 3070 8 GB
- Asus TUF X570-plus motherboard
- G.Skill DDR4 3200 16 GB RAM
- EVGA 750W Gold PSU
- Samsung 980 NVMe SSD 1 TB
- Scythe CPU cooler (brand unknown)

**New PC Specs:**
- Ryzen 7 9800X3D - $331.20
- Asus Prime 5070 Ti 16 GB - $1009.00
- Asus TUF B650E-E - $153.17
- Crucial DDR5 6000 32 GB - $195.61
- Corsair RM850E - $124.99
- Thermalright 120 SE CPU cooler - $54.99
- Lian Li 207 case - $0.00 (they forgot to scan it)
- 2-year protection plan for GPU - $139.99 (not sure if this was a good idea)
- 2-year replacement plan for motherboard - $24.99

I reused my SSD from the old setup and have extra storage too. The total price came to $2245.55 after taxes. I'm still within my 15-day return window, but returning things would feel weird since I've opened everything. How do you think I did with these purchases? Am I overthinking things? Should I return anything?

Don't sweat it too much! The free case is a nice bonus, and while the GPU might be pricier, prices fluctuate all the time. Overall, it seems like you got decent parts and made a solid upgrade.

Honestly, the only thing that seems off is the protection plans. You probably didn't need those, especially since you can just RMA the GPU or motherboard if something goes wrong. Other than that, the rest of your parts look decent based on current market prices.

$1,150 for that 5070 Ti plus the two-year warranty is a bit steep, especially when you consider the 9070 XT is going for around $730 right now. Also, that GPU generally comes with a 3-year warranty for manufacturing defects. I think you could've saved a lot by skipping those extended warranties and going for alternatives available last week.

Yeah, I'm kicking myself too for not picking up that 9070 XT when it was cheaper. It’s tough to make decisions with all these price jumps.
