Did I wait too long to buy an x3d for AM4?

I've been thinking about upgrading to an x3d chip for my AM4 setup, specifically the 5700x3d. I initially considered it at the beginning of the year but ended up upgrading my GPU instead. My power supply recently started failing, so I had to replace that too. Now, with the prices for the 5700x3d sitting between $330 and $400, I'm wondering if I've missed my chance. Should I wait for prices to drop or should I just grab something like the 5800XT that's on sale right now?

You just missed a $200 drop on Amazon for the 5700x3d, which makes it even more frustrating!

Price fluctuations are expected. If you're not rocking a high-end GPU (under 500 bucks), then I don’t think the 5700x3d is going to be a major bottleneck compared to your 2700x.

They're out of production now, so prices on the 5700x3d are unlikely to drop anytime soon.

Honestly, the 5800XT will give you good performance for the price. I had to settle for that too and I've got no regrets. Runs everything smoothly for me!

Definitely missed it! The 5800 has been discontinued, and the 5700x3d is the go-to option now, which has only driven up demand.

Yeah, I think you missed the boat on the 5700x3d. At this point, the 5800XT or moving to AM5 might be your best options.
