Did My Neighbors Damage My Computer with Their Drilling?

Hey everyone, I'm a gamer who plays Overwatch and recently experienced a weird issue with my computer. While I was deep into a game, I heard a loud drilling noise coming from my neighbors. Immediately after that, my computer started acting up—freezing constantly and becoming completely unplayable. I've even got video proof of how it crashed right after the drilling began. My neighbors have a history of being bullies, and I can't shake the feeling that they might have somehow damaged my PC. I'm posting here because I really need advice from folks who know about computers.

Wait, do your neighbors even have access to your place? How could they drill into your computer from their side?

They can't access my room, but the drilling was super loud and right next to my wall. I’m worried they could've somehow damaged the wires or something.

Sounds like there's a chance they might have drilled into some wires behind the wall. If you’ve got a cable that runs through there, it could be a real issue. Try plugging your PC into a different outlet to rule out power issues.

That makes sense. I’ll definitely try that. My blue cable goes through that wall where they were drilling, so maybe it got messed up somehow.

It sounds unlikely that your neighbors could have intentionally damaged your PC just from drilling. It's possible that the vibrations from the drilling shook something loose inside your computer. I’d recommend trying to remove and remount your GPU (graphics card) and see if that helps. Also, check that your power didn't short out—using a surge protector could help prevent that. If there's no visible damage and you didn’t lose power, it’s probably just a coincidence with the timing of the drilling noise.

That's some solid advice! I agree, vibrations could definitely mess things up. Just be careful when you’re handling your computer hardware.

Honestly, this feels a bit fishy. Are you sure you’re not just looking to pin the blame on your neighbors? It seems a little too convenient that your PC crashed right after they started drilling.

Come on, I’m not looking to blame anyone. Just trying to figure out why my computer is acting up! I’ve never had issues like this before.
