I'm curious about whether using an AM5 CPU Holder, like this one I found, is worth it. They aren't super expensive, but I'm not clear on whether they actually provide any benefits or if they're just for looks. What do people think?

They look nice and can help manage thermal paste overflow, but that's about it. If it's not causing issues for you already, I'd say skip it. Just keeping the cooler mounted properly should suffice.
It's essentially a cosmetic piece for AM5 chips. Intel CPUs may benefit from holders due to bending and pressure issues, but AMD is square and doesn't have those problems. So in most cases, it’s just extra fluff.
Honestly, I don't think they’re really necessary for AMD. They might make cleaning easier, but in terms of performance, they barely make a difference. If you're using water cooling, you might see a degree or two drop in temps, but that's pretty much it.
These holders mainly help keep thermal paste from leaking into the side grooves of the CPU. For AMD CPUs, they really don't do much else, since bending isn't an issue like it is with Intel's longer CPUs. Overall, if you're just after better cooling, you won't see a significant difference with an AM5.
If you're really into aesthetics or changing coolers often, then sure, go for it! But if you’re just looking for a cooler performance on your AM5, you probably won't notice any real improvements.
