I'm looking for options regarding Sandy Bridge CPUs since my friends have older systems. We're trying to play a game that requires AVX2, but they're hesitant to buy a new motherboard along with a CPU just to meet that requirement. Is there any Sandy Bridge CPU that supports AVX2? Thanks!

Sandy Bridge is quite outdated at this point. I just updated from my Intel i7-6850k, and honestly, it was long overdue. Even basic tasks are easier on a newer setup! If they can swing it, I’d recommend a full upgrade for the best experience.
Unfortunately, there aren't any Sandy Bridge CPUs that support AVX2 since that instruction set was introduced with the fourth generation of Intel processors. It looks like an upgrade is necessary if you want to play those newer games!
I hear you! I've just had to let go of my i7-3770 because of that too. It's tough!
Yeah, but for some, upgrading the motherboard isn't feasible right now.
