It really varies by company. I've never found certifications particularly useful except for showing off, honestly. For many people, they can be a good way to learn since that's how some get hands-on experience. Still, I'd rather just learn things on my own unless a job specifically needs it.
Certifications can really help you figure out what to study. They can set you apart from others who might have similar resumes, but the impact isn't always huge. They serve more as a guide than a ticket to a job.
Only the major cloud provider certs and Kubernetes certifications are worth it. Most others feel more like tutorials with a sticker at the end. Real-world projects you've worked on carry way more weight than any cert you can get.
