I just bought the MSI Ventus 3x OC 5090 graphics card, and the instructions say I need to connect four single PCIe 8-pin power cables to the adapter, avoiding double cables. However, I'm short on cables; I only have two single 8-pin power cables left and two that split into two. Do I need to purchase additional cables from Corsair for my PSU, or can I use the double cables if I only connect one head from each, resulting in four connections into the PSU?

You can totally use the split cables! Just make sure to connect only one of the 6+2 connectors to the adapter from each split. As long as you end up with four individual PCIe cables going into the PSU, you should be fine. Just keep in mind that it’s always better to have separate cables if possible.
Honestly, I’d recommend just getting the right single cables when you can. It can help avoid any potential issues down the road.
What power supply are you using? It might already have the necessary cables built in. Just checked, if your PSU is solid enough for 600W, you should look into getting two more cables to be safe. A $300 PSU should have decent slots, but yeah, it does seem odd that it only came with two.
I have the Corsair HX1500i, which should work well with this card. If you lost the native cable, you might actually not need that adapter.
That's right! The split connectors won't affect the power delivery as long as you're careful with the setup.
