Hey folks! I'm currently running a 7800 X3D with a 7900GRE, but I'm planning to upgrade to a 5090. Right now, I have a 1000W PSU. Do you think I should upgrade to a 1250W instead?

A 1000W PSU is likely adequate for your setup since the 7800X3D is power limited. Just make sure your specific PSU model is reliable. What kind do you have?

I have a Corsair RM1000x, and it's 80 Plus Gold rated.

Agreed, 1000W should be fine for your needs.

I've got an i9 14900k paired with a 5090 on a 1000W PSU, and it works just fine for me.

Yeah, as mentioned, a 1000W unit is usually enough. If you plan to undervolt and overclock the 5090, you could save about 200W from your power consumption!

That's wild! I didn't realize the savings could be that high. Does undervolting affect performance much?
