Do I Need a Government ID to Pick Up My Order at the Apple Store?

Hey everyone! I just ordered a MacBook, but I've hit a snag. I'm 16 and don't have a government-issued ID yet. I do have a school ID, and I'm wondering if that would be enough to pick up my order. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Does anyone know if a school ID might work?

Maybe try bringing your student ID along with a birth certificate or something else that shows your name? It's worth a shot if they're flexible about ID requirements!

From what I've read, Apple typically requires a government-issued photo ID for pickups. You might be able to get around this if they don't ask, but it's safer to assume they'll want to see an ID. I wouldn't count on the school ID working, especially if they insist on seeing a government one.

In my experience, I've never really had to show ID for pickups if I had my confirmation email. But when I picked up more expensive items, like phones, they always asked. So, it might depend on the item you're picking up!

Yeah, I've noticed that too. For accessories, I've skipped showing my ID, but with pricier stuff like watches, I've always had to show my driver’s license, even with the email confirmation.

If you're in the UK, they might say a government-issued ID is needed, but in practice, I've used various forms of ID, even a travel pass. Anything with your name and photo might work, including student IDs. Just check their local policy since it can differ by country!
