I'm building my first PC and I'm a bit confused about the power supply connections. My power supply unit (PSU) has a 12-2x6 cable, but my GPU requires three 8-pin PCIe connectors. Will the cable I have work for my GPU, or do I need to get a different one?

You won't be able to use a 12V-2x6 cable for a GPU that requires 8-pin PCIe connectors. It sounds like you'll need to get a compatible cable for your GPU. If you can share the model of your PSU, that might help us figure out what you need!
If your PSU has a dedicated 12VHPWR cable, it likely includes three 6+2 PCIe cables for powering your GPU. But it really helps to confirm the exact model of your PSU for the best guidance.
Most PSUs come with the necessary 8-pin PCIe cables included, so you should check if you already have those available. It's standard for power supplies to have at least a few outputs for GPUs. Let us know what GPU you have for more specific advice!

My GPU is the XFX Swift RX 9070XT with a triple fan setup.
