Do I Need a New Power Supply to Upgrade My GPU?

Hey everyone, I'm currently using an 8700G CPU with 64GB of RAM powered by a 650W power supply. I'm looking to upgrade from my integrated graphics to a dedicated GPU and I've found a 9070XT at a good price nearby. I used the Newegg power calculator and it suggests that a 650W supply should be enough for my setup. However, I've come across different advice saying I should really have a 750W, 800W, or even a 1000W power supply for this GPU. The TDP of the 9070XT is 304W, and the TDP for the 8700G is 65W, which gives me roughly 300W of headroom for power surges. Do you guys think my current PSU will suffice? I'd really appreciate any input or advice!

A solid 650W PSU should be okay for your setup, as long as it's a good quality one. If you cheaped out on the PSU, I'd be more cautious, but with reliable brands like Seasonic, you should be fine.

I specifically went for a good 650W PSU myself because I had plans to upgrade my GPU to something like a 4070 Ti, so I feel confident that you’ll be alright! Thanks for confirming!
