Do I Need Extra Fans for Air Cooling My CPU?

I'm planning to air cool my CPU in my case, and I'm wondering if I should invest in additional fans. If so, how many would be reasonable and in what orientation should I set them up? I'm trying to keep costs down to maximize my spending on performance, so I'd love to avoid extra purchases if they're not necessary.

For your setup, having 3 intake fans and 1 exhaust fan should work just fine. This configuration will allow for good airflow and keep your CPU cool. Just make sure to position the intake fans at the front and sides for optimal performance.

You don't necessarily need to go overboard with fans. If you have a solid air cooler for your CPU, that’s usually enough. Some really good air coolers are priced under $50, so you can save money there too!

I was thinking of using the Thermal Peerless Assassin 120 SE with a 9600X. Would that be adequate?
