Hey everyone! I'm trying to revive an old smartphone that I've left unused for years due to a broken screen. I recently found a cheap replacement display and I'm excited to give it a go! My plan is to connect the new display and power it on to test everything before I fully reassemble the phone. But I'm a bit concerned— is it okay to have a charged battery during this process? Could it be harmful in any way? Also, are there any other tips I should keep in mind while replacing the display? Thanks a lot for your help!

Honestly, whether the battery’s charged or not isn't the biggest worry. Just remember to disconnect it first for safety!
I’d definitely go for a battery swap since old batteries can fail. Plus, testing with a good battery will give you peace of mind when you’re replacing the display.
Having a charged battery shouldn't be a problem, but just make sure to disconnect it before you start messing around with the display. It’s safer that way!
It’s probably a good idea to change the battery too if the phone has been sitting for so long. Old batteries that haven’t been used can be pretty much dead at this point, and you want to avoid any issues when you’re testing the new display. Best to be safe!
Right, also it helps to minimize any risks during the repair process.
Totally! It’s usually not a good idea to rely on an old battery after so long.
