Hey everyone! I just finished building my PC and everything seems to be running, but I'm unsure if I've covered all my bases regarding drivers. I've installed Windows 11 and updated my GPU drivers, but should I also update drivers for my motherboard or CPU? I'm noticing my download speeds are really slow, so I'm worried I might have missed some important steps. Here are my specs:
- Motherboard: B850 Gigabyte Eagle WiFi6E
- GPU: Gigabyte 5070Ti
- CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- Memory: 2TB NVMe Gen 4
Any advice would be awesome! Let me know if you need any more information. Thanks!

It's not mandatory, but updating the chipset drivers is definitely a good idea. Most motherboard makers, like Gigabyte, provide all the necessary drivers on their support page. Just head to the Gigabyte site, enter your motherboard model, and you can find updated drivers for everything—ethernet, wifi, chipset, and more. This way, you'll get updated drivers that are usually better than the generic Windows ones. Also, check for any BIOS updates while you're there! For your SSD, install the software from its manufacturer to check its health and install firmware updates for better performance. Just keep in mind that the CPU doesn't require drivers, but AMD's Ryzen suite can help with monitoring and tweaking if you're into that stuff. Good luck!
Thanks for the tips! Do you think not having the motherboard drivers updated could be causing my slow download speeds?
