Do I Need to Keep the Partitions on My New Dell BOSS Drive?

I've just set up a brand new Dell R360 with a BOSS card and noticed it has a couple of partitions already labeled ESP and OS. Since this system was ordered without an OS, I'm wondering if those partitions are normal? Are they leftovers from factory tests, and can I safely delete them before installing Windows Server 2022?

Those partitions are likely just remnants from a factory test. If you're starting fresh with a new OS, go ahead and delete them. The Windows setup will take care of everything once you do that!

I'll do that! Thanks!

You might want to boot the server and see what it says first. It could give you more info. But from what I hear, it’s nothing crazy; just a message about the lack of an OS.

I did that and it just confirmed that it was ordered without an OS. Nothing too exciting.

Just delete them and let Windows install on the full space. Most likely, they're just leftovers from the factory either due to a test or a failed OS install attempt.

I deleted the partitions and I’m currently test-driving Server 2022. I did all the Windows updates and installed the DSU plus the video driver. It seems to be working great! Are there any other drivers that the DSU might miss?
