I'm currently subscribed to the Pro plan for Claude, and I'm wondering if I have to pay more to use it with Aider. Are there any alternatives I should consider?

Aider works on a pay-per-use API basis, so you'll have to keep that in mind if you're using it with Claude.
Alternatively, if you're sticking with Claude Pro, you can use the Desktop Commander MCP to work with code. Just a heads up, though, this tool is meant for Claude Desktop, which isn't available on Linux yet.
Ah, I see. That’s a bit of a bummer since I'm on Linux.
Yes, you will have to pay extra for Aider. However, if you opt for the max plan at $100, you can use Claude code directly without needing the API.
Thanks for letting me know!
