Do I Need to Replace My PSU for a 5070 Ti and 9800X3D?

I've been using my RM1000x power supply (from 2021) for about three years now. I'm planning to upgrade my setup with a 5070 Ti and a 9800X3D. Should I consider getting a new power supply for this, or can I keep using my current one? If I do need a new one, what would you recommend? Also, realistically, how long can I continue using my existing PSU?

That RM1000x is a Tier A+ PSU, so it’s definitely more than capable of handling your new components. You can continue using it until the warranty is up, and it will likely keep functioning well beyond that.

I agree, why change it if it’s working? I've had an EVGA PSU for six years through multiple builds and it's still going strong.

Honestly, it just feels like a waste to spend more money now. Your current PSU is perfectly fine for those upgrades and should last you a long time.

Your PSU actually has a 10-year warranty, which shows it's built to last. Given that you’ve only had it for three years, you should be good to keep using it for quite a while longer. Just make sure to keep an eye on it as you upgrade your hardware.

You've got plenty of power there! If you're having a system that's about 540W, it's safe to hold on to your PSU. Just grab an official 12VHPWR cable from Corsair if it didn’t come with one, especially for your 5070 Ti.
