I recently upgraded my graphics card to an RTX 4070 Super, but I'm using a power supply that's 650W with an 80 Plus Gold rating. My system specs include an i5-14600K CPU, Z690A motherboard, a CoolerMaster Hyper 620S cooler, and 32GB of RAM. I'm wondering if my current power supply can handle this new setup or if I should get a 750W to 850W power supply instead.

The RTX 4070 Super has a maximum power consumption of about 220W and typically recommends at least a 550W power supply. So your 650W should be adequate for most scenarios. However, keep in mind that as power supplies age, they can lose their ability to deliver their full rated wattage. If your PSU is more than 5 years old, it might be worth considering an upgrade. Still, if it’s been reliable, you might be fine. Just ensure it has appropriate protections so it doesn’t fail and affect other components.
The model of your power supply is super important! Not all 80 Plus Gold units are created equal. While 650W can be enough for your system, if your PSU lacks good protection features, you might be risking your rig's safety.
You should be alright with your current setup!
