Do I need to upgrade other parts if I switch to an RTX 5080?

I've been using my current PC build for a while and am thinking about upgrading my graphics card from an RTX 3080 to an RTX 5080 since the prices are looking decent. Lately, I've noticed that it's struggling with new games on high/ultra settings, dropping down to 40-60 FPS when I used to get over 100 FPS easily. Here's my current setup: GPU: EVGA RTX 3080, CPU: Intel i7 9700k, PSU: NZXT C850W, RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32GB (2x16GB), Motherboard: ASUS Z390-H, and Case: NZXT H440. Will the 5080 work well with this build, or should I consider upgrading other components too? Any insights would be great!

Yes, there might be some bottleneck with your setup if you jump to the 5080. If you're really set on buying it, you could see how it performs first before deciding on a CPU upgrade. Just to give you a heads up, going for something like a 9800X3D would alleviate most of that bottleneck. Keep an eye on your current CPU’s performance in benchmarks before making the leap.

Have you fiddled with DLSS on your RTX 3080? It could really help. Also, it’s worth noting the resolution you're gaming at—1440p at 165Hz means the CPU doesn’t bottleneck as much, and most pressure is on the GPU. A 5070 Ti might even be a sweet spot compared to the 5080 for your needs, depending on the games you're playing.
