I'm thinking about fully switching to Linux and want to know if I need to wipe my other drives that mainly contain games and files. I've got around 7 to 8TB of storage across several drives, and I just want to make sure it's safe to keep them as they are. Thanks in advance for the insights!

Linux should read your drives just fine, but I recommend disconnecting them before formatting your OS drive. This way, you avoid accidentally wiping the wrong one!

You don't have to wipe your other drives! Linux can access NTFS disks, but keep in mind you'll need to reinstall your games. You can still use your data files without issues if you have the right applications.

While you don't have to wipe the drives, running games from an NTFS partition isn't the best approach. It can work, but if you have many NTFS drives, it's wise to keep a Windows installation handy for repairs. Also, for best performance, consider transferring your files to another drive, formatting the NTFS drive to a Linux-friendly format like Ext4 or BTRFS, and then moving your files back.
