Do I need to worry about my outlet’s power capacity before plugging in my new PC?

I'm gearing up to build my first PC and have some concerns about whether my electrical outlet can handle the power demands. I'll be using a Ryzen 9950X3D CPU and an RTX 5080 GPU with a Super Flower Leadex 3 power supply rated at 1000 watts. I estimate I'll draw around 1500 watts in total since I'd also like to plug in my TV and a small fan occasionally. Should I be worried about overloading my socket with all this?

Most extension cords and power strips are rated for at least 1800 watts, so if you check the specs on yours, you should be okay. Just make sure everything is rated for the total wattage you plan to draw!

You won't be hitting the 1000 watts mark all the time—maybe around 800 at max under heavy load without overclocking. Your TV doesn't pull much power, so 1500 watts total should be plenty for what you're planning!

Just a heads up! I’ve got two gaming rigs and a mini fridge running off a similar setup, but my voltage does drop a bit. If you've got something like an AC running too, just be mindful of that during peak usage.

Your outlet should be fine, but pay attention to your power supply setup! Definitely look into a quality surge protector, especially with high-end gear like yours. I always use an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for my rigs to protect against sudden power cuts and fluctuations; it really helps with stability too.
