I'm replacing the battery on my iPhone 8, and when I spoke to the Apple store, they insisted that I have to reset my phone first. I would rather not do that, and I was wondering if that's really necessary. Is there a way to replace the battery without resetting, or maybe even just buying the battery myself? Any advice would be really appreciated!

If you plan to replace the battery yourself, you shouldn't need to reset your phone. Apple just wants to run some diagnostics, which needs the latest iOS, but a DIY job doesn't require a reset. So, if you're doing it yourself, you're all good!
Yeah, you can often find original batteries for sale through reliable online retailers. Just double-check the reviews!
From my experience repairing old iPhones, I never had to reset them when I installed new batteries. It's definitely possible to do it without that hassle.
Honestly, I'd really like to know why you're so against resetting. It's a common practice, and it shouldn't affect your data if you've got a backup. Do you not have one, or is it just a lot to deal with?
Backing up all my data with my slow internet would take forever. Plus, I don't have a computer to do it on.
I'd recommend making a backup of your phone first, just to be safe. You can restore everything easily if anything goes wrong, but a reset shouldn't affect your data as long as you have a backup.
Got it! But where can I find a good quality original battery?
