Do Motherboards Include M.2 Mounting Screws and Standoffs?

I'm in the process of selling my PC piece by piece, and I'm wondering if I should keep the M.2 mounting screws and standoffs from my motherboard or if I can just pass them along to the buyer of my motherboard. I'm looking at getting a new Gigabyte B850M DS3H board, but since I don't live in the US, finding replacement screws and standoffs can be a hassle. Would the new motherboard come with them?

From my experience, most M.2 screws are metric, like M2 x 3mm, but standoffs can vary. Some motherboards might use different sizes, so it’s smart to make sure you have the right ones included with the motherboard. This is especially important if you're in a place where sourcing hardware is tricky.

Yes, motherboards typically come with M.2 standoffs and screws. However, keep in mind that some older models had standoffs but no screws included, while more recent boards usually include both. Just double-check to make sure the screws and standoffs you give are the correct size for the new setup.

That's good to know! Also, some newer AM5 motherboards have tool-less clips which are super convenient. If your new board has them, installation will be a breeze!
