Do you get frustrated when AI forgets what we were talking about?

Has anyone else experienced that annoying moment when you're guiding AI through a process, and out of nowhere, it seems to forget everything you've just discussed? It's especially frustrating during crucial tasks like debugging or building something. I get that there are limitations with context windows, but I'm curious—how do you all manage this issue?

For me, it's a mix of annoyance and amusement! AI tends to forget the task at hand or go off on tangents. I just try to use it for fun and as a tool for brainstorming rather than expect it to fully replace what we do.

Exactly! I treat it like a partner in brainstorming rather than a full-on assistant.

I think it’s just a limitation of AI for now. Before AI, we had to rely on our own memory. It's all about how we adapt our methods—there are still ways to make it work for us!

It's definitely a common issue. AI can't always be perfect, so we have to learn to work around its quirks. Otherwise, who knows how fast it might take over our roles!

Totally feel you on this. The free version of certain tools isn’t as responsive as the full API. When it happens, I usually just start a fresh convo and reintroduce the topic—it saves a lot of head-banging!

Why is the free version so much worse? It's like they want you to pay to get decent functionality!

Yeah, it’s definitely frustrating! One trick is to start a new chat every few prompts, so you can copy over your conversation. That way, AI has a clearer view of what you’re working on and can summarize the steps you've already taken.

I do something similar! I often recap key points before diving back in. It really helps keep the focus.
