I've been comparing Office 365 E3 and E5, and it seems like E5 provides everything in E3 plus some cool features like Audio Conferencing, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and extra OneDrive storage. However, I'm confused about whether Office 365 E5 includes the features from E5 Security, or will I still need to keep the E5 Security license separately?

Yes, Office 365 E5 includes some advanced features like Defender for Office, which offers eDiscovery premium and Teams DLP, but it doesn't cover all the Entra P1/P2 tools that you find in the Enterprise Mobility + Security E5 package. So, you'll need that E5 Security license for those specific features.
Just to add, remember that you have to license all your Exchange Online users for the Defender service to work.
Nope, E5 doesn't include everything that E5 Security covers. You’ll need the Microsoft 365 E3 plus the E5 Security addon to access those specific tools or the Defender for Endpoint Plan 2.
The Audio Conferencing feature in E5 is included because it has Teams Phone functionality, but it can be misleading because any suite with Teams can add Audio Conferencing for free, which comes with 60 pooled call-out credits. The only difference with the paid version is international dialing credits.
Got it, thanks for clarifying!
