Hey everyone! I've been diving deep into my TV options and I think I've found the one. The catch is that I've heard if you sit too far from a TV – specifically, I'm looking at a 55-inch OLED and sitting about 9 feet away – it could end up looking just like 1080p. Some users say they can still see a noticeable difference at that distance, while others say it won't matter. Is this really true? I know bigger is usually better, but my budget and room size make the 55-inch a perfect fit for me. I found an awesome deal, but if it won't give me true 4K at 9 feet, I'm having second thoughts. What do you all think? Thanks!

Here's a fun fact: at 9 feet away from a 55-inch screen, the difference between 1080p and 4K might not be very noticeable since your eyes can’t pick up the extra pixels at that distance. If you want to really see the difference, you'd either need to sit closer or go for a bigger screen. But if you're happy with what you have, then that's cool too!
Keep in mind that the actual pixel output of the TV doesn’t change; your perception does. The further you are, the less detail you can discern, making a smaller screen less effective for showcasing 4K at that distance. You might want to check out viewing distance charts to see what works best for you!
The picture quality itself doesn't change based on distance; it's really about how your eyes perceive the details. Even at 9 feet, you might still appreciate other enhancements, like HDR, if you're upgrading from 1080p.
But will it actually look like 4K from that distance?
