I've set my iPhone 17 charging limit to 85%, but I'm confused about how it works. Does it actually stop charging once it hits that limit, or does it keep charging even though it says it's still charging? Sometimes I notice it stays at 85% for a while without going higher. Any insights?

Try checking back a few minutes after it hits 85%. If it’s still showing as charging, that could help clarify things for you. Generally, it’s likely to respect that 85% limit.
It might sometimes still show charging even after it reaches 85%. That can happen, and it’s normal behavior. It should eventually settle at your limit though.
When you set the limit to 85%, your iPhone should pretty much stop charging at that point most of the time. It might occasionally top off to 100% to keep the battery health estimates accurate, but that’s not the usual behavior.
