Hey everyone,
I'm dealing with a strange issue where emails in Outlook seem to be reappearing as if they're new, though they were actually received a few days ago. One of our clients is using Office 365 and Exchange, and multiple users are affected. For instance, an email that was replied to two days ago popped back into the inbox today, timestamped as if it was received just now. When you check, the original date is still from two days back.
There are no duplicate emails, which makes me think they are the same messages somehow marked with a newer date. The message trace confirms that these emails were only sent once at the older date, not the new time they're showing in the inbox. It kinda feels like something is messing with the date/time fields, or maybe there's a hiccup with Microsoft's servers. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this or has any ideas about what might be causing it.
Thanks for your help!

We’ve run into a similar issue with O365 this morning, so it’s not just you. It's odd how it started suddenly, right? Let’s hope more users chime in to share their experiences.
Saw a similar glitch affecting just two users in our organization earlier. I thought there would be more since we have around 1500 accounts, but maybe it’s just localized or has to do with certain configurations.
Before jumping to conclusions about server issues, check if this is happening in the web app too. By the way, is it possible this involves external mail servers? If it turns out to be a backend issue with Microsoft, I’d suggest opening a support ticket just to be safe.
Good point! It affects both the desktop and web app. There's also an external email server for signatures that might be causing some weirdness, so we’ll need to look into that.
Yeah, it's quite a coincidence! I checked health reports and social media, but nothing popped up. Hopefully, we get some more feedback soon.
