Expected FPS with a 14600K or 14700K Upgrade

I'm currently running a 4070 Super with a 14400F, and I'm averaging about 175-200 FPS in Black Ops 6. I'm planning to upgrade to either a 14600K or 14700K, and I'm curious about what kind of FPS I can expect when moving to 1440p. Any insights?

You might only see a minor bump in FPS. If your GPU is hitting 95% utilization or more, you're likely at the limits of what you can gain from a CPU upgrade, and improvements in core speeds aren't that impactful overall.

Honestly, the upgrade to 1440p won’t really yield a huge difference in FPS. The CPU change is more about improving stability rather than boosting your max FPS significantly.

I wouldn't really recommend the 14600K; it probably won't give you much of a performance boost. And definitely make sure to get a brand new part if you go for 14th gen, since there are reports of stability issues with used CPUs.

You might want to check out some gameplay videos on YouTube; they can give you a rough idea of what to expect after your upgrade.

I tried searching but couldn't find anything specific.

When I upgraded from a 12400F to a 14600K, the most noticeable change was in my 1% lows, which improved quite a bit. At 1440p with a 6900XT, I haven't dipped below 165 FPS, which is solid. Since you’re experiencing bad 1% lows right now, upgrading could definitely help with that, especially at 2K resolution.

I feel you on that; my 14400F dips to 140 FPS sometimes, so I'm in the same boat wanting an upgrade.
