Experiences with Claude Max 20x Plan and Opus Limits

I've been a fan of the Max 5x subscription, but I'm finding that my usage of Opus is hitting its limits too quickly, especially today when I got a warning after just 20 minutes. I switched to Sonnet 4 and managed to work continuously for 10 hours without any limits. For those of you who have upgraded to the 20x plan, how does your experience with Opus compare? Can you really use it for an entire workday or at least 8 hours without facing limits? I just want to know if the increased plan translates to longer usable time before limits kick in, since I've had to deal with restrictions on the 5x plan.

I’m currently on the Max 20x plan and I’ve had no issues using Opus extensively. I've run sessions lasting up to 3 hours and only saw the 50% usage warning towards the end. I primarily use ultrathink for planning and haven’t needed to run parallel agents or multiple Claude Code instances. In my view, the 5x plan is really about unlimited Sonnet use in a single session, while 20x offers more freedom to use Opus in one session without limits.

I used to hit limits on 5x pretty fast, but since switching to 20x, it feels like I have way more leeway. I’ve gone for hours using Opus, even while running multiple projects, without a limit warning. Definitely worth it if you need to maximize your output.

I did hit my limits on the max 20x today, but I had Opus running non-stop for about 8 hours across several projects with several agents. My advice? If you're pushing it that hard, be ready for those warnings!

Yeah, I found the limits to be quite generous on the 20x plan. I often run Opus without issues. When I was on the 5x plan, I'd hit limits several times, but with the 20x, I hardly see any warnings. It's definitely a step up!

I do about 1.5 hours per Opus session, and I believe the session resets every 5 hours. That gives the 20x plan plenty of time to work without interruptions, at least for me.
