Experiencing FPS Drops in League of Legends with RTX 5070—Help!

I'm facing a really frustrating performance issue while playing League of Legends. I'm running the game on an RTX 5070, so I don't think hardware is the problem. I've capped the game at 80 FPS to keep things stable and minimize spikes. However, playing in Fullscreen caused random drops to around 50 FPS, so I switched to Windowed mode, which improved things somewhat but didn't completely fix the issue. During teamfights and sometimes even in trades, my FPS drops suddenly from 80 to about 55-50, which is super frustrating and affects my gameplay. I've tried all the usual optimizations like updating drivers and adjusting settings. The game runs on LOW settings and temperatures seem normal. Has anyone experienced something similar, or does anyone have suggestions for what else I can tweak? I'm open to any advice because this is really making me lose my mind!

Have you considered checking the power usage of your GPU? If it’s not using enough power, that could lead to performance issues too. It’s weird that your settings are on LOW and you're still seeing drops. Make sure your GPU is set to prioritize performance in the settings.

Definitely! Sometimes the default settings don't prioritize performance as much as they can. Keep an eye on thermals too, but if your temps are fine, then optimizing power settings could help.

Check out this guide I found—it outlines a series of steps from 1 to 12 that should help fix and optimize your performance. It's worth a shot: [Performance Guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/s/cfawXD67X3). Once you've tried it, share your results in the comments of the guide!

I followed a similar guide and it worked wonders! Definitely give it a try, especially the steps about managing CPU performance.

First off, you really need to check what CPU you're using. League of Legends is more CPU-heavy than people realize, and your GPU isn't as crucial. If your CPU isn't powerful enough, it could be causing those FPS drops you're experiencing. It sounds like you're potentially bottlenecking.
Also, capping your FPS at 80 might not be necessary; try running it uncapped and see if it utilizes your RTX 5070 better. You might be limiting its potential.

Yeah, your FPS cap could be what's limiting your experience. Most modern GPUs can handle much higher FPS, especially in League. It’s worth testing without a cap for a bit.
