Experiencing Frequent BSOD on Dell Rugged Laptops – Possible Causes?

I've been dealing with multiple blue screen of death (BSOD) crashes on my Dell Rugged laptops recently. We've had three crashes in just a few weeks that required a reset—one of them happened twice! We're currently analyzing the software versions to see if there's a common link, but I'm also wondering if these issues might stem from a broader Dell, Windows, or hardware problem.

To be honest, without knowing the operating system, hardware versions (since "Dell Rugged" covers a really wide range), and specifics about how these crashes are happening, it's tough to give solid advice. More details would definitely help in understanding your issues.

It could possibly be related, but without more details, it’s hard to say for sure. Let’s hope it's just a minor software glitch!

I get that, but I'm mainly checking if there's a known systemic issue or anything that might have been reported before. The latest crash had me resetting the system again just yesterday.

The cool thing about Dell Rugged laptops compared to something like a Toughbook is that they should run software just like a regular Latitude. I’d suggest checking both a rugged and a non-rugged model for differences and troubleshooting them in the same way.

This might not be directly related, but I've experienced similar issues. We had some workstations that kept rebooting every few minutes, and it turned out Dell SupportAssist was the culprit. Uninstalling it really helped with stability.
