Experiencing High Temps with My 9800X3D—What’s Going On?

Hey everyone, I'm having a bit of a meltdown (literally) with my 9800X3D. I've set all cores to -10 in CO, but AIDA64 crashed at -20. When I tried to run Cinebench, my CPU shot up to 95°C, which feels way too high. AIDA64 was slightly better, with a max of 80°C after 10 minutes. Can someone help me figure this out? My setup is shown in this link: https://imgur.com/a/k0cXIWg. My fans are connected to a Fanhub, which goes into the SYSFAN, and the pump is on CPUFAN. I have my AIO running at 100% all the time and the fans at a minimum of 80%. Any tips or ideas?

Cinebench really pushes everything to the limit, so those high temps aren't uncommon in synthetic tests. If you’re worried, you might want to set a lower temp cap, like 85°C. I did this with my friend's build, and he saw only about a 1% performance hit but it cooled down quite a bit—getting 2-3% better performance overall after that. Worth a shot!

I've seen other 9800X3D users maxing out at 80°C during Cinebench, which seems odd!

Honestly, try playing actual games instead of running those benchmarks. You won't see those extreme temperatures in regular gameplay. Benchmarks max out the CPU – real-world usage tends to fluctuate and is often way lower. You might even find you can stay stable at -20 offset while gaming. My 9800X3D has handled that setting perfectly from day one!

I just reseated and reapplied thermal paste, and now my temps are looking much better! Tried -20 again, but AIDA64 crashed immediately; I’ll have to give it another go.

I really don't like having the AIO tubes at the bottom like that. I’d recommend flipping it to prevent any air from getting trapped near the CPU. That could definitely impact your cooling efficiency!

Yeah, I agree! I've noticed air gets trapped too; I just prefer not having them at the bottom.
