I'm dealing with blurry and laggy gameplay in both Fortnite and Valorant, and I've already tried a ton of optimizations without any improvement. Here's what I've done so far:
- Turned off HAGS
- Disabled MPO
- Enabled G-Sync and V-Sync with a 141 fps cap
- Updated my Nvidia GPU drivers
- Updated BIOS and AMD chipset
- Changed power plans
- Disabled HPET
- Capped fps
- Checked that my display's refresh rate is set to max
- Changed power settings to best performance
- Verified mouse and keyboard polling rates (both at 1000hz)
- Performed disk cleanup
- Deleted Shader Cache in Nvidia
- Tried FPS capping but found it made things worse with screen tearing
- Completed RAM optimization and used ISLC
- Made SSD optimizations
- Disabled ftmp and SVM
- Reinstalled Windows
Here are my specs:
- GPU: RTX 3060
- CPU: AMD RYZEN 5 5600X
- RAM: 2x8 DDR4
- SSD: 1TB
It's worth mentioning that my frames are stable and the frame time graph looks normal. My monitor's refresh rate is 144hz, but when I capped the game to 144fps, it actually got worse with more screen tearing.

Is your GPU 8GB VRAM or 10+ GB? That might make a difference. If you have an 8GB GPU, consider lowering your settings a bit. Also, does this lag happen with other demanding games, or just Fortnite and Valorant? Oh, and try turning off V-Sync if you haven't already!
Using V-Sync alongside G-Sync can actually cause issues. G-Sync is meant to sync your frames for a smoother experience, whereas V-Sync is outdated and can create lag. You might want to check your CPU and GPU temps as well. Also, how do other games run for you? If your frame graph is stable, it could indicate a bad display cable or monitor. Testing with a different monitor and cable could help pinpoint the issue.
