I built my first PC about a month ago, and everything has been running well until recently. I haven't made any updates or installed new software, but now I'm encountering occasional startup lags—about once in every 20 cold starts. The lag disappears if I restart or turn the system off and back on. I also experienced a random restart once. My setup includes a Ryzen 9 7900, MSI X870 Tomahawk motherboard, and 96GB of Crucial DDR5 RAM. I'm wondering if this might be related to the BIOS memory training and if disabling it would help. I enabled EXPO and ran Memtest86 with no issues. However, the booting process is slow, taking around a minute to reach POST, which I can manage as long as the system runs smoothly afterwards.

Definitely don’t disable memory training! It's actually crucial for keeping your system stable, especially with that hefty 96GB of RAM. The lags you’re experiencing seem to be linked to inconsistent memory training, especially when dealing with DDR5. This type of RAM can behave a bit differently on cold boots, which might explain those odd startup times.

Gotcha! So, what can I do to minimize this inconsistency and get a smoother startup?
