I recently built a new PC, and while I'm achieving high FPS, the drops can be drastic, sometimes hitting 20 FPS or even lower. My previous setup with an RTX 2070 and Ryzen 9 5900X felt much smoother in the same games, despite lower averages. I've tried various troubleshooting steps, but I keep noticing that when I stutter or lag, the bus interface load in GPU-Z hits 100%. This leads me to suspect that my motherboard might be to blame, given that it's a cheaper model. Can anyone shed some light on whether a bus load of 100% is typical and what it signifies?
Here are my specs:
- GPU: RTX 5080
- CPU: Intel 265KF
- RAM: 32 GB at 6000 MHz
- Motherboard: Gigabyte Z890M Gaming X
- Power Supply: MSI A850GL

What does GPU-Z show for the bus interface itself? I’m not talking about the load, just the connection speed you're running at. That's an essential detail to consider.

It says PCIe x16 5.0 @ x16 5.0.
