Experiencing Stuttering with RTX 4090 and LG 240Hz Ultrawide Monitor – Need Help!

Hey everyone! I just built a high-end PC and I've been facing some major stuttering issues in all games, which is frustrating. Even when I cap my framerates or lower the refresh rates, the stuttering persists. Here are my specs: I'm rocking an RTX 4090 GPU, AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D CPU, and an LG UltraGear 45GS95QE-B monitor, which runs at 3440x1440 and 240Hz. I've got 64GB of DDR5 RAM and I'm running on a clean install of Windows 11 24H2 with the latest BIOS. The stuttering occurs across multiple refresh rates (240Hz down to 144Hz) and affects games like League of Legends, Apex, and CS2. I've done a lot of troubleshooting, including updating drivers, tweaking BIOS settings, and disabling various features like G-SYNC and overlays. Even the latency diagnostics show some DPC spikes. I believe it's either a driver issue or something related to high refresh setups. If anyone has a similar setup and is running smoothly, or has insights on DPC-level issues, I'd really appreciate your advice! Thanks!

From what you’re describing, it could be a driver-related issue. I had some similar experiences with my GPU, and rolling back to a previous driver version really helped smooth things out. Don’t forget to check if there are any updates for your motherboard's chipset drivers too!

It sounds like this might be more of a software issue rather than a hardware problem. Have you tried rolling back to an earlier version of Windows 11? Sometimes the latest versions introduce bugs. Also, check if there's any firmware update available for your monitor. If you can, testing with a different monitor could help pinpoint if the combination of OLED + 240Hz is causing the stutter.

Make sure to double-check the specs on your monitor and ensure it’s using the correct version of DisplayPort. My friend had a similar issue with his 49" Samsung monitor and it turned out to be compatibility problems due to low DP version. You mentioned using a DisplayPort 1.4 cable, which should be fine. Still, sometimes testing with a different certified cable can help eliminate that as a factor.
