Feeling Paranoid About My Privacy — How Can I Check If Someone’s Watching Me?

I've been feeling really paranoid about my privacy lately. A while back, while chatting with a friend on WhatsApp, I got the idea that they might somehow see my phone screen in real-time, which freaked me out. Now, I'm constantly worried that other people could be spying on what I'm doing on my devices. This anxiety isn't just limited to my phone; it even extends to my PC and an older phone I used long ago. I've never shared my screen with anyone, and WhatsApp doesn't have the permissions to do that either, so I know it's irrational. How can I check if anyone is actually watching me, or if this feeling of paranoia is just in my head? By the way, English isn't my first language, so I hope I'm expressing myself clearly!

I think a little paranoia can be healthy, especially with all the news about surveillance. But if it's affecting your daily life, that's where it gets tricky. Balancing healthy skepticism with rationality is key. Just make sure these concerns aren’t spiraling into excessive anxiety.

Hey! As a cybersecurity student, let me ease your mind a bit. It sounds like your phone isn't being accessed remotely. If you're still worried, it might help to back up your important data and then wipe your phone. Do the same for your PC if that gives you peace of mind. Also, considering your feelings, I strongly recommend talking to someone professionally. It can really help you get a grip on these thoughts.
