Hey everyone! I'm getting ready to build my first PC since I was around 8 years old, and I could really use your expertise. Here's what I have so far for my build:
- **Power Supply**: be quiet! Straight Power 12 1200W, ATX 3.0, 80 Plus Platinum
- **Graphics Card**: RTX 5090 Founders Edition
- **Motherboard**: MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi or ASUS PROART X870E-Creator WiFi
- **CPU**: Ryzen 9 9950x3D or Ryzen 7 9800x3D
I'm particularly curious about the CPU. In the past, I struggled with video editing on DaVinci, and I want to avoid that lagging, especially since I have the latest GoPro and DJI Pro 4. I also want to make sure it runs big AAA games like Outlaws and Stalker 2 smoothly. What CPU do you think I should go for?
For the motherboard, I'm stuck between MSI and ASUS. What do you all recommend?
Lastly, I've heard a lot about RAM speed, particularly 6000 MHz CL30. However, I've read that the Ryzen CPUs can only handle up to 5600 MHz. I was initially eyeing the Acer Predator Hera DDR5 RGB RAM at 32GB (16GBx2) with 8000MHz CL36. Is that overkill? Should I aim for 6000 MHz CL30 instead? I'm planning on going for a total of around 64GB of RAM.
Thanks in advance for all your input! I've even set up a build example on PCPartPicker: [PCPartPicker Link](https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/B3bc74).

For the CPU, I think the Ryzen 7 9800x3D will do the job just fine for both video editing and gaming. When it comes to motherboards, if you’re leaning towards content creation, the ASUS ProArt X870E-Creator WiFi is the way to go. It’s great for connectivity with more USB ports and dual Ethernet options, plus it’s ready for PCIe 5.0. On the other hand, if your focus is more on gaming, the MSI MAG X870 will give you better overclocking features and solid performance. Choose based on whether you prioritize gaming or content creating.
Thank you so much for your input! What do you think about the RAM?
