Hey everyone! I'm building my first PC and could use some help with my setup. As a student, I don't need something super powerful; I'll mainly be using it for schoolwork and light gaming like Rocket League. My budget is capped at $1100, not including taxes. Here's my build list: [PCPartPicker](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kLdjC8). Just a heads up, I'm not considering AMD parts at all, and I've already picked up the ASUS GeForce RTX 5060 for $300. Any suggestions or opinions on my build?

Your build should handle 1080p gaming, but the 5060 is a bit entry-level, especially with your CPU being nearly outdated. The expensive power supply seems out of place, and you could find storage options that are cheaper. If you need quick file transfers, though, the speed will come in handy!
Consider going for a cheaper power supply. The 80+ Platinum and 850W options may not be worth the price for a budget build. You could save cash by getting an RM750e which is around $120 and still gives you plenty of power. Plus, you might want to wait a bit to grab a 9060 XT when it launches; it could give you better performance for not much more cash!
Seriously, most people here will recommend AMD. That said, to make the most of your budget, maybe opt for a cheaper NVMe drive, case, and power supply. This way, you could grab a better GPU. By the way, you’ll need a dual tower cooler for the CPU you selected.
Why are you against AMD? You might be missing out on better value. Also, just a heads up, the motherboard might limit the performance of your 5060. You'll want one that supports PCIe 5.
Couldn't agree more!
Honestly, I don't think PCIe 4 will affect performance too much, but I do agree with the AMD suggestion!
That would definitely give you better price-to-performance!
