First Time Building an ASUS/Intel PC – What Software Should I Use for Monitoring and Control?

Hey everyone! I'm about to put together my very first PC build today using an ASUS Z790 motherboard and an Intel i5 14600k CPU. I want to get everything up and running smoothly. I've noticed that Armoury Crate has a terrible reputation, so I'm considering using the standalone Aura Sync for RGB controls. However, I'm looking for recommendations on software that can help me monitor temperatures, overall performance, and manage fans too. If it can control RGB as well, that's a bonus! Thanks for any suggestions! Also, just a heads up, I'll be updating the BIOS and chipset driver right after I boot it up to avoid any stability issues.

Have you checked out OpenRGB? It might work for RGB control, but I've heard mixed reviews about it. Some users mentioned it can get glitchy. Also, the built-in Windows software might offer some functionality, but it's hit or miss for RGB management.

I read about OpenRGB having some issues too, but if you're up for it, it might be worth testing out as an alternative to Armoury Crate.

For monitoring your system, hwinfo64 is a solid option that many reviewers recommend. It's pretty comprehensive and should cover all your needs for tracking temps and performance.
