First-Time PC Build: Need Advice on Parts and Air Cooling

Hey everyone! I'm diving into building my first PC and I could really use some advice. I'm aiming for a 1440p gaming setup and I've got some parts picked out. Are there any obvious mistakes in my choices, or suggestions for improvements? I'm curious if I selected any components that might be overkill when a cheaper option would work just fine. Also, is air cooling sufficient for a 9700x3d processor?

I'll be using the SSD from my current rig, and I've read that swapping drives between builds is pretty common these days. I'd appreciate any thoughts or insights to help make this build foolproof. Thanks a lot!

First off, what's your primary use for the PC? That'll heavily influence your part choices. If it’s mainly for gaming at 1440p, you’ll want to make sure your GPU is up to the task too!

Oops, I forgot to mention it's for 1440p gaming! I'll edit my post to clarify.

Make sure your current SSD is a fast M.2 drive! If it's older, it might not keep up with your new build. If you end up needing a replacement, look for a reliable modern SSD with at least 2TB of storage—something like the Samsung 970 EVO Plus is great!

I honestly have no clue how fast it is. I got my PC from a game development studio that closed down. The SSD is 4TB, but I suspect it’s slow by today’s standards.
