Fixing Freezing Issues with Sling TV on an Older TV

Hey everyone! I've got an older Magnavox TV in one of the bedrooms where my mom likes to watch Sling TV, specifically HGTV. We're running into a frustrating issue where the TV freezes after about an hour of use. I'm trying to troubleshoot this but haven't made much progress yet. Here's what I've done:
1. We're using T-Mobile internet with a DECO mesh system. I relocated the DECO unit to her room thinking it might be a signal issue, but the freezing continues.
2. We're streaming through an Amazon Fire Stick, which connects via HDMI ports. When the TV freezes, power cycling the Fire Stick restores it temporarily.

I could really use some suggestions on what else to try. Thanks!

Amazon Fire Sticks can be pretty underwhelming. You might want to look into switching to a Roku stick instead. It could resolve your freezing issues, plus they offer a smoother interface without all the Amazon ads!

Sometimes, the Sling TV app itself can get buggy, especially after updates. Try uninstalling and then reinstalling the app. I did this recently, and my app stopped locking up afterwards.

Yeah, I had a similar experience! Reloading the app worked wonders for me. Fingers crossed it's a permanent fix for you too!
