I've been using Ubuntu 24.04 for about a month now, and it's been really frustrating due to frequent freezes. I know the issue is related to my NVIDIA graphics, so I switched to the integrated Intel graphics via EnvyControl, which works well with no delays or freezing. However, I'm working on a small project that requires a good GPU for better performance. Whenever I switch back to the NVIDIA graphics, Ubuntu tends to freeze either at the lock screen or a few minutes after I log in. Is there a way to resolve this problem?

This might be something better suited for a support forum like Linux_Questions. Also, make sure your drivers are properly installed—double-check that!
Definitely check out the Arch Wiki specifically for NVIDIA and Optimus. It has some great tips and troubleshooting steps that might solve your issue!
Have you thought it could be an issue with the graphics card itself? Sometimes hardware problems can lead to those freezing issues, especially if it’s isolated to just the NVIDIA graphics.
You might want to consider switching to Pop OS; they have a dedicated NVIDIA ISO that's tailored for optimal performance with NVIDIA hardware. Many people find that Arch or Arch-based distros work better with NVIDIA, too—I've had great luck with Garuda Linux and Manjaro!
Hey! First off, it sounds like you might need more info on your setup. What version of the video driver do you have, and are you using X11 or Wayland? Knowing those details can really help troubleshoot this issue!
Thanks for the suggestions! I'll take a look at Pop OS and those Arch distros.
