Getting Random Black Screens with My New 5070 TI – Is it the Drivers or a Defect?

Hey everyone! I recently built a new gaming PC with an AMD 9800x3D CPU, a Gigabyte 5070 TI GPU, a Gigabyte x870 Eagle motherboard, and 64GB of G.SKILL RAM powered by a 1000W PSU. I've been experiencing some weird issues where my screen randomly goes black for a second while I'm gaming, watching YouTube, or just browsing the web. The rest of the system stays on during these moments, which feels similar to what happens when updating the GPU drivers or alt-tabbing from full-screen games.

I'm already on the latest NVIDIA drivers, and my GPU and CPU temperatures are fine under load. I've checked everything inside the case, but I just can't figure out the cause. I'm really worried that I might have a defective graphics card and might need to RMA it. However, since I can't replicate the problem on demand and it seems to happen outside of gameplay, could this possibly just be an issue with the new NVIDIA drivers? I'm hoping they fix it in future updates. I also found a video discussing similar black screen issues, but mine is on a single monitor.

It sounds like it could be related to the drivers, especially since issues like this are pretty common with the newer 50-series cards. Have you tried switching your DP or HDMI cable? Sometimes that can make a big difference.

I've been using the same DisplayPort cable from my old build (2070 Super). I guess I could test a different cable, but I'm not too optimistic about it solving the issue. Just had a flicker while writing this!
