Got a Blue Screen After Factory Reset – Help!

I've factory reset my PC twice trying to resolve a persistent blue screen issue. The error code I'm getting is 'kmode_exception_not_handled' and it says 'What failed: mfehidk.sys'. It happens just after the HP logo during boot. Before all of this, I encountered a grey screen, and since I don't have a USB drive or anything to install a new version of Windows 11, resetting was my only option. Now, I'm stuck in a blue screen loop. Also, just to add, I'm facing blue screens even when I try to boot into safe mode.

First, you might want to gather some dump files for a more accurate analysis of your blue screen. If you manage to get into Windows or safe mode, check the folder C:WindowsMinidump for any dump files. If you find any, zip them up and upload them to a file sharing site. Having multiple dump files can help figure out the root cause of the BSOD.

You really need to get rid of McAfee altogether, it’s causing major issues. But just a heads up, your current situation is tricky since you can’t even boot into safe mode.

It looks like the issue might be related to the McAfee driver. I suggest completely removing McAfee. If your PC won’t boot normally, try booting into safe mode with networking. From there, download a tool called Microsoft Sysinternals Autoruns. Once you open it, head over to the drivers tab to find the problematic driver linked to your blue screen. You can either delete it or disable it, then try rebooting and see if you can access Windows normally again.
