Got a CyberPowerPC and Want to Upgrade for Better FPS – Any Tips?

Hey everyone! I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to PC upgrades. I bought a CyberPowerPC Warrior Gaming PC back in 2021 and here's what I've got: an Intel Core i7-10700F processor, Intel B460 motherboard, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 for graphics. My current setup includes a 960GB SSD and a power supply rated at 650W. I'm trying to figure out if there are any parts I can upgrade, specifically the CPU or GPU, that would help me increase my FPS. Also, I'm curious if my 144Hz monitor is going to cap my FPS at 144. Thanks for any advice you can share!

It really comes down to your budget! Honestly, your current RAM is on the slower side, and some other components might leave you wanting. If you're open to a complete overhaul, consider building a new rig while reusing some parts like your case. If funds are tight, upgrading your CPU first would help; maybe look at a Ryzen 5 9600x. Just remember, you'll also need a new motherboard and RAM if you do that. And about your monitor, a 144Hz display won't limit your FPS as such but you won't see more than 144 FPS due to the screen's capability, so be mindful of potential screen tearing!

First off, you might want to consider upgrading your RAM from 16GB to 32GB, just because it could help with multitasking. The RTX 3060 is decent, but if you're looking for a solid FPS boost, the 4070 could give you around a 50% performance increase. Just keep in mind that if you go for a heavier GPU, your power supply might need an upgrade too! For most games, your CPU should hold up fine, but it really depends on which games you're playing and what’s not meeting your expectations right now.
