Has anyone else noticed high costs from Azure Snapshots on Excluded Disks?

I'm curious about how many others have experienced issues with Azure Selective Disk Backup on a Standard policy. We recently discovered that despite excluding certain disks, we were still getting charged for snapshots on these disks, leading to a shocking annual cost of over $531,000. We've since switched to an Enhanced policy, which resolved the issue and dropped our monthly costs from $45,000 to just $86. If you're using the same setup, how many disks do you exclude, and have you checked your Azure usage? Would love to hear how much you've been spending on these unnecessary snapshots too!

It's just insane! I’ve dealt with Azure before and had some wild costs too. $500K/year is definitely not just chump change! Companies really need to have someone managing these budget points.

Exactly! A little oversight can lead to huge cuts in costs. I’ve seen other costly mistakes too — like running unused resources that rack up over time.

I totally get where you’re coming from! It's actually a bit scary how easy it is to miss these costs. I’m involved in another cloud project and we had a similar scare with unexpected charges. Always gotta audit those bills!

Absolutely. I've found that using tools like Power BI for cost analysis has saved me from some costly surprises.
