I recently signed up for a new ChatGPT account, and I've found that even on the free plan, I have unlimited access to GPT-4o. I can use it without any time limit, and there's no restriction on image uploads either. Just wondering if anyone else has come across this. Is it a known bug or something?

I had totally unlimited access too and had no idea what people were talking about when referencing “tokens.” Then I had unlimited access to all available models and could toggle between them (honestly, useless; they’re not distinct, not based on different training/parameters; it’s mostly performative theater). As of today, I was cut off. Test group for sure. I had that access for about one year.
I've heard similar stories! Sometimes with image generation, there are supposed to be daily limits, but some users report being able to exceed them. It might depend on how many people are accessing the service at the moment.
Honestly, I don't think that's true. Once your usage rights for GPT-4o are up, it should switch automatically to 4.1 mini. There aren't really any unlimited options for the free plan.
There was a recent update rolled out that seems to have granted free users memory and unlimited image uploads! It's making the free tier surprisingly capable now, so enjoy!
I noticed that, but I got a message saying I hit a limit on my old account. Seems like the new features apply to new accounts only.

Totally agree! The new features really enhance the experience for free users.
