Has anyone experienced account issues with Datto/Kaseya’s SaaS Protection for M365?

I'm having some serious concerns with Datto (now Kaseya) SaaS Protection for M365 for backing up Teams, Exchange, and SharePoint. We used to rely on Backupify before they rebranded and it's been functional, albeit a bit clunky. But the real problem started about four years ago when a mix-up with our vendor caused our backup tenant to be completely deleted without any notice, which was a nightmare. Now, I'm facing a similar situation where it looks like our account has vanished again! We've paid our bills through the year, yet support can't find our admin users or organization. Has anyone else dealt with a similar issue with Datto/Kaseya or their reseller Ubistor? Oh, and just to update, our tenant was restored but I'm still waiting for a root cause analysis.

I haven’t personally dealt with that situation, but I’ve had a complete nightmare with a Datto backup appliance myself. My team struggled with it, and we ended up scrapping it after a year. A lot of my coworkers had similar frustrations with Datto's reliability too. It’s puzzling why they still get recommended to businesses.

I think the pricing can be appealing. I mean, Datto's charging around 50 cents less than Veeam, so for some businesses, saving a few hundred bucks a month is worth it, even if the product has its flaws.

Totally agree. It sounds like you had a bad experience, but if the implementation was done poorly by your service provider, that could definitely lead to issues.

While Backupify/SaaS Protect has its merits, Kaseya has definitely earned a bad reputation in the industry. With so many other solid M365 backup solutions available like Veeam or Avepoint, it might be worth exploring options outside Kaseya if you can.

Yeah, but I get why some stick with Kaseya; their pricing per user is hard to beat. I’ve checked a few quotes and nobody seems to come close to their cost.

We actually switched from Datto to Axcient because we couldn't endure the ongoing support issues and the product reliability. It was just too frustrating.
